A single mother transformation, meet Nathalie, going from not taking care of herself. Not thinking she was ever beautiful, to a goddess with confidence!
She is just one of the 40 women who participated in last year’s 40 Over Forty Project. And this is her story.
My whole life, I have been told I’m not pretty
At 52, Nathalie decided it was time to take charge of her life. She’d been through a lot in her 5 decades, and it was really starting to wear her down.
Working full time, renovating her house, selling it, and being a single mum to a teen and 20 something. Life was always throwing her challenges. Losing almost all her sight in her right eye a few years ago after a long illness was just one of many of these challenges. As always though, she pushed through, not so much for herself, but for her children!
But now, with these 2 gorgeous kids who were both almost grown, it was time to do something to bring her confidence back. And I was definitely going to be able to help in that department.
She is beautiful. I just had to show her how beautiful.
Nathalie, what inspired you to be a part of this project?
“The chance to feel beautiful. Being able to be a part of a project that celebrates women and their beauty is amazing. And lastly, I want to create a lasting memory for myself, and my children to cherish.”
When do you feel the most confident?
“When I’m feeling fit, healthy and looking good!”
What are you looking forward to when you’re older?
“Good health. Close relationships. Having time for hobbies.”
What message would you like to give to today’s younger female generation?
“Learn to value, love and respect yourself. The way that you would like to be valued, loved and respected by others.”
