Are you wondering how to prepare for your photo shoot?
Here are 5 tips to get you ready, whether it’s a headshot, family photo session, or a transforming makeover. All of these tips will apply, and are highly recommended so you can get the most out of your experience. Here’s how to prepare for your photo shoot.
Tip #1 – Hair!
Are your roots going to be screaming to be done the day before your shoot? Give your hair a few days after a colour to settle in. If you’re going for something new and drastic, please don’t do it within 2 weeks of your shoot.
Tip #2 – Nails
Do they need doing? They WILL more than likely be in the photo, so make sure you put the effort into making them look nice. You don’t have to go full on, just neaten them up and put on a nude polish.
Tip #3 – Facials and Fake Tans
If this is not something you usually do, please leave it until after your photo shoot. Experimental facials are not a good idea within 2 weeks of your session. Fake tan usually gives off a bit of an orange look. Unless you have discussed the look with your photographer beforehand, maybe leave it au naturel.
Tip #4 – Sleep well, and sleep SOBER!
Make sure to avoid alcohol and get at least eight hours of sleep before a shoot. It’s hard to photoshop a tired look, or even worse – someone falling asleep!!!
Tip #5 – Relax!
It is NOT your job to know how to pose, where to look and what to do with limbs. It’s the photographers. This is why you are paying the professional. So relax, get out of your head, you will do awesome! And, you will have so much fun!
And that’s how to prepare for your photo shoot!
